Preparing for Climate Chaos

the earth being enveloped by flames to represent climate changeAs time passes, the fate of the planet and its environment becomes increasingly uncertain. Climate collapse continues to follow an upward curve, with most countries and individual citizens simply not doing enough to reduce their carbon footprint. Additionally, international politics paint a grim image where countries are ever-so-ready to wage wars and escalate tensions. Putin, Kim Jong-Il, Xi Jinping, and Donald Trump, who walked out on the Paris Climate Agreement, show an utter disregard, if not outright reject joining forces, to save planet Earth.
Most countries are still holding on to fossil fuels as their primary energy source, even though renewable energy has shown sufficient evidence of being equally effective. Governments all over the globe need to act and contain the emission of greenhouse gases. Blame is not only on governments but also on individual citizens who fail to curb their consumption habits, even in the face of irrefutable evidence.
According to recent studies, almost 1/5 of greenhouse gas emissions result from livestock production, and with a drastic increase in meat consumption, the situation calls for a dire wake-up call.
The volatility in global politics is another factor that continues to pose an ever-looming threat. In the 1960s, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, two superpowers, Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev, nearly dragged the planet to the brink of nuclear war, and we barely escaped extinction then. With rising confrontation worldwide and the Russian Federation holding an ever-increasing nuclear stockpile, the potential apocalypse looms over every life on planet Earth.
