29… Sexual Freedom
Homo sapiens is a diverse species. Human love has always existed in many forms, across genders and identities. This is not a novelty or modern confusion, but an ancient truth of our kind.
The natural behavior of our species is not confined to one single configuration of love. Humans have always loved in multiple
directions: man and woman, man and man, woman and woman, bisexual people who love across the
spectrum, and transgender people who love as their true and rightful selves. This is not a novelty. Nor is
modern confusion. This is the ancient truth of our kind, our species.
Look back. History itself testifies.
Alexander the Great loved his male companion while conquering the known world. Plato and Socrates
openly discussed eros between men as a legitimate part of philosophical thought. Oscar Wilde was
criminalized in his own era for daring to love truthfully. And right here in the American story, we see it at
the highest levels of power. Abraham Lincoln shared a bed for years with Joshua Speed in Springfield
before he was President. James Buchanan, our only bachelor President, had a deeply intimate bond
with William Rufus King, who later became Vice President.
This is our heritage. This is human reality.
Modern America
And in modern America, that truth rises higher. Pete Buttigieg, openly gay, serves as the U.S. Secretary of
Transportation. Scott Bessent, openly gay, serves as the United States Secretary of the Treasury. The
The cabinet itself now reflects the spectrum that has always existed. Gay people are not outside the
American story, they are in the White House, Congress, Senate, and local government offices. These officials have been persecuted for 40 years and forced out. Members such as Robert Bauman, Gerry Studds, Jim Kolbe, and Katie Hill have all been held to a higher standard because of their gay lives. The living rooms of this country are filled with Artists, academics, soldiers, welders, teachers, and now government officials.
Consensual Sex Among Adults
So let us ascend to the mountaintop and declare the next truth:
Sex between consenting legal-age adults is natural, universal, and equal. The age of consent is something that must be unified and ratified within the US. Laws must be implemented because there are three different ages people can consent, which allows for “indecent and lewd” acts to occur just across state lines. Sexual acts must also be voluntary. Sex must not be coerced. Sex must never be transactional because of poverty or parental pressure. Religion cannot overrule adult consent, as in many countries. Government cannot outlaw love. No scripture from any tribe of men has the right to cage the human heart.
And here is the next American step: The United States must stand boldly and publicly for sexual
equality, not as a side note, but as a core principle of liberty itself. Entry to the United States should
require acknowledgment that adult sexual equality is part of the legal and social reality of this land. You
can believe whatever you want in your private practice, but the rights of consenting adults in America
are not subject to one’s religion, tradition, or fear.
This is the next evolution of liberty.
Homo sapiens is a free species. Sex is not a sin. Sexuality is not shame. It is a birthright, real and
natural as speech, movement, and worship. If America wants to lead the 21st century, then it must declare: Every consenting adult Homo sapiens has the same sexual rights. This has to be without exception, without shame and apology, and most importantly, without a second-class category carved into law.
This is the new Declaration of Sexual Independence.
And this time, it includes everybody.
