United Nations must immediately move its peacemakers to take control of Palestine and Israel. Picture the United Nations declaring Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem a shared protectorate for 99 years—a pause on ownership so cooperation can grow. The Security Council would revive the old Trusteeship Council, giving every global region an equal vote so no single capital, creed, religious heritage, in other words, man, not god, controls and runs the village, state, of the middle east. Controlled by mixed races, sexes, religious and secular troops who consider themselves children of the same universe and this planet is our home, and it is the religious differences and beliefs that have caused the middle east to become a hellhole for mankind.
How the Protectorate Would Work
A United Nations Protectorate Authority (UNPA) would manage daily life. It would be led by an internationally appointed representative and four deputies for humanitarian aid, security, economic development, and justice. Half its advisory council would be Palestinians and Israelis, the other half independent experts. An elected forum chosen every four years—reserved seats for young adults and the diaspora—would let residents write new laws. Local (integrated, including women) courts would keep handling everyday cases, while an international bench would prevent war crimes and systematic abuse. Holy sites dear to Jews, Christians, and Muslims and whatever other gods of the day, would be watched over by an nonreligious board that guarantees open access for all.
The problem here is, clearly, an issue of who’s got the best god, the most powerful god, and who’s going to die first to go to heaven. The world and the United Nations must come to the realization that the majority of Christians pray for Armageddon because their religious teaching is that we must kill each other in order for god to return. The other side believes that we must become martyrs so that we can get into the glorious place that Muhammad has prepared, filled with virgins and where the Quran, specifically verse 52:24, mentions “ghilman” or “servant boys” who are described as being like “well-protected pearls” for the believers in Paradise.
Rethinking Security
A peacekeeping force of about 200,000 soldiers and police, including those from Africa, Asia (China, India, Japan, the Koreas, and all of Latin America—would deploy first, steering clear of troops from the traditional great powers. In the first three years, they would disarm militias, pay for people to give up their arms, and secure border crossings. Over 25 years they would train local recruits, so neighborhood policing is done by people who speak the language and know the streets. By the second half of the mandate, only a rapid-response unit would stay on call for true emergencies.
Funding Concepts
The best shield against fresh violence is a thriving economy. A $40 billion “Green Marshall Plan,” funded by the top 10 countries with the highest GDP. A single-payer health system overseen by the World Health Organization would fuse trauma care with routine medicine. Schools would teach Arabic and Hebrew side by side, add robust science courses, and share a civic curriculum rooted in joint stewardship of the land.
Healing Wounds and Guarding Rights
Grief cannot be ignored. Mobile trauma clinics, bilingual crisis lines, and universal stipends for war widows and orphans would validate pain that numbers can’t show. Former fighters would swap rifles for job training and get six months of guaranteed income while they learn. A public portal would post every payroll and contract within 72 hours, and an independent media zone would shield journalists from censorship. A no-fly annex would bar foreign drones and fighter jets unless the UNPA approves.
A Call to Courage
To hold this land in trust, even for a single lifetime, is to show that compassion, care, and cooperation can endure beyond hatred. When the next generation stands at the crossroads of its future, may it do so with steady hands, clear eyes, and a heart that sees all people as part of one human family and children of the same universe.
